Overview

TimeLeft helps you plan meaningful time with the people and things that matter. This policy explains what we (IceCapApps) collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection minimal, do not sell your personal information, and do not use third-party advertising SDKs.

What we collect

You provide in the app (stored on your device unless noted):

  • Counters and plans (titles, categories/tags, notes, dates, frequency, progress).
  • Preferences (language/region, theme, notifications/quiet hours, life-expectancy inputs, accessibility options).
  • Optional contact methods you type for sharing/planning (e.g., a phone number in a message field). We do not access your contacts unless you explicitly paste or type them.

Automatically collected (diagnostics & usage analytics):

  • App events (e.g., feature usage, screens viewed), timestamps, approximate session metrics.
  • Device data: OS/version, device model, app version, locale, and non-identifying device characteristics.
  • Crash/exception logs and performance signals.
  • Push notification token (for delivering app notifications).

We do not collect precise location, photos, contacts, or health data unless you intentionally paste or upload content into the app.

How we use information

  • Provide core features (counters, reminders, scheduling).
  • Send notifications you enable (e.g., weekly nudges, streak reminders).
  • Improve reliability and user experience (analytics, crash logs, performance).
  • Prevent abuse and troubleshoot issues.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce terms.

Processing bases (GDPR/UK GDPR)

  • Performance of a contract: to operate TimeLeft at your request.
  • Legitimate interests: to maintain, improve, and secure the app in a privacy-respecting way.
  • Consent: where required (e.g., iOS tracking permission/ATT, notifications).

Sharing and third parties

We don’t sell your data. We share limited data with service providers strictly to run the app:

  • Crash reporting: Sentry – error diagnostics and stability.
  • Analytics: PostHog – product analytics with IP redaction and privacy controls.
  • Notifications: Expo services – deliver push notifications using your push token.

These providers process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards. We do not enable interest-based advertising.

Data storage and retention

  • On-device content (counters, notes, preferences) stays on your device. If you uninstall the app, this data is removed from your device.
  • Diagnostics/analytics are retained only as long as necessary for the purposes above, then aggregated or deleted per provider retention settings.

Security

We apply technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including transport encryption, secure key management, least-privilege access, and vendor due diligence. No system can be 100% secure; we monitor for and remediate issues.

Your choices & rights

  • Notifications: enable/disable and set quiet hours in Settings; revoke at the OS level anytime.
  • Analytics/Tracking: toggle analytics in Settings. On iOS, you may see a system ATT prompt; you can change this later in iOS Settings.
  • Language/Region: adjust in Settings to change in-app copy and formats.
  • Export/Delete (on-device): you can reset the app to defaults from Settings (this deletes app data stored on your device).
  • Privacy rights (EEA/UK/California and similar): access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing. Contact us at apps@icecapapps.com. If we rely on consent, you can withdraw it anytime.

Children

TimeLeft is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

International transfers

We may process data in countries outside your own (e.g., where our processors operate). We use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) where required.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect product or legal changes. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date and, when appropriate, notify you in-app.
